'.. 30 June 1999
• AGE-NC Project No. 98-0468
Page 6 of 12 r
hydropunch-equivalent sampler driven into the water-bearing unit. Depth-disciete ground water
,. samples were collected from a sampling interval of approximately 8.5 to 13 feet bsg. The procedures
for collection of ground water samples from soil borings and.monitoring wells are presented in
Appendix A.
Groundwater samples were,submitted.to Alpha Analytical Laboratories, Inc. inUkiah, California,
andto Kiff Analytical in Davis, California. Alpha Analytical Laboratories, Inc. and Kiff Analytical
' are DHS-certified laboratories. Ground water samples were analyzed for:
• TPH-d by EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
• TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
' BTEX by EPA Method 8020;and +
Oxygenating compounds including,DIPS,ETBE,MTBE,TAME,and TBA by.EPA Method
' 8260.-
The
260:The results of the ground water sample laboratory analysis are presented in Section 5.4.
4.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT
' A total of two ground water monitoring wells (MW-4 and MW-5) were installed down gradient
(north) of soil probe boring SB-7 and the former UST locations,(Figure 2). Following drilling and
sampling of soil borings.B-4 (MW-4) and B-5 (MW-5), the soil borings were installed with ground
water monitoring wells. Monitoring well MW4was completed to a total depth of 21 feet bsg and
installed with 15 feet of well screen section extending from 6 to 21 feet bsg. Monitoring well MW=5
' was completed to a total depth of 1.7 feet bsg and installed with 10 .feet of well screen section
extending_from 6.5 to 16.5 feet bsg. The well screen sections were installed across the observed
water table level. A'summary of monitoring well construction specifications is presented in Table 4. '
Followingwell installation the wells were develop ed in order water flow into the we11 and minimize
 develop
6d
amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing. Procedures for
' well installation and development are presented in Appendix A.
' 4.4. GROUND WATER MONITORING ACTIVITIES '
On 06 May 1999, ground water monitoring activities were performed at the' site. The ground water .monitoring activities included the measurement of ground water levels'and,collection of ground
water samples'for each of the site monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-5).
