Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water. <br /> Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br /> nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system. <br /> Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br /> dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain components of gasoline (benzene, etc.) are <br /> known or suspected carcinogens. <br /> The potential physical hazards include: Slip-trip-fall hazards, noise, heavy equipment(i.e., drill rig), <br /> vibration hazards, traffic hazards, heat stress, etc. <br /> 5.0.
