' Closure Summar.y Report 2003 <br /> VAN BUSKIRK GOLF COURSE FACILITY- <br /> ' 1740 Houston Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of the City of Stockton,Advanced.GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has'prepared this <br /> closure summary report for the Van Buskirk Golf Course maintenance facility(site)located at 1740 <br /> Houston Avenue, Stockton, California (Figure 1). The work included collection of ground water <br /> samples from two soil borings to assess the impact of petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenating <br /> ' compounds on ground water beneath the site. <br /> This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established in Appendix A and Appendix B to <br /> ' Tri-Regional Recommendations-Reporting, dated 30 August 1991,prepared by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of UST sites. Site <br /> background infonnation'was summarized in'the AGE-prepared-Additional Soil and Ground Water <br /> ' Assessment Work Plan, dated 31 July 2000, which was approved by the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department(EHD)by letter dated 04 August 2000. <br /> 1 The.Van Buskirk Golf Course is located at 1.740 Houston Avenue,Stockton, California(Figure 1). <br /> The golf course is located in the incorporated City of Stockton.The golf course is situated along the <br /> ' south side of Houston Avenue and is bound on the east by Interstate 5, Walker Slough to the south, <br /> and open-space to the west. The maintenance facility site is located on the south central portion of <br /> the golf course. <br /> maintenance facility . <br /> The e ance ac rty s>te consists of a maintenance shop structure, storage shed, and.open <br /> storage area(Figure 2).In addition;the facility formerly operated two fuel USTs and fuel dispensers. <br /> ' The USTs formerly located at the'site consisted.of a 550-gallon gasoline tank and a 1,000-gallon <br /> diesel tank. <br /> 2.0. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> ' The property is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, <br /> elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough. The Great,Valley Province has been <br /> filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent,creating a nearly flat- <br /> lying alluvial plain,extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains <br /> in the north. The western and eastern bouridaries'of this province are the California Coast Range and <br /> ' the Sierra Nevada, respectively. Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not <br /> been completely defined but.are'believed to-be of metamorphic and igneous origins. The northern <br /> and southern portions of the Great Valley Province have been designated the Sacramento and San <br /> ' Joaquin Valleys, respectively. <br /> Advanced GeoEnviranmental,Inc. <br />
