The soils have been checked on several occasions by the use of a
gastech model 13145 meter for the detection of hydrocarbons . After the
fourth week of aeration no detectable hydrocarbons where found. On
October 3, 1990 two undisturbed soil samples were taken for laboratory
analysis. A chain-of-Custody form was prepared and the samples
delivered to A & L Western Agricultural Laboratories, Inc. in Modesto.
Sample procedures followed were those outlined in Work Plan dated
August 1, -1990 and in conservation with Harlin Knoll . The results from
A & L Laboratories indicate no contamination was present in the
stockpile.
b CONCLUSIONS
Contaminated soils at site from 500 gallon paint thinner tank were all
removed by October 3, 1990. This is evident by the laboratory testing
which showed no detectable levels of contamination on sides or bottom
of the excavation. Aeration of stockpiled soil has been completed as
evident by laboratory test results from soil taken October 3, 1990
test, see Appendix A.
RECOMMENDATIONS
We recommend closure of the site. We recommend all stockpiled soils
which were once contaminated and are now clean be returned to the
excavation.
r
