A few
days ago, we received another quarterly report from Brown and
Caldwell . The concluding paragraph is:
"The majority of hydrocarbons appear to remain pooled beneath
the site near the water table and in the vadose and capillary
fringe zones. The rate of vertical an lateral dispersion in
groundwater appears to be slow."
It appears to us that cleanup would be simpler and less expensive if
started now rather than waiting for additional dispersion.
On the other hand, if the contamination is not worth cleaning up, let us
know and we will consider reactivating Municipal Well 12 located a few
hundred feet southeast of the site.
We would appreciate your informing us of your decision.
Jac L.
