WORK PLAN <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION 1 <br /> WATER WELL INVENTORY <br /> NEW JERUSALEM SCHOOL <br /> 31400 KOSTER ROADS <br />} TRACY, CA 95376 <br /> - - -- <br /> i October 26, 1998 <br /> - L INTRODUCTION^ <br /> This-is a Work_ Plan for soil and groundwater-.investigation activities to be conducted at the New <br /> Jerusalem School located at 31400 Koster Road (site), in Tracy, San Joaquin County, California (Figure <br /> -1; Appendix A). This Work-Plan was prepared by Condor Eakth Technologies, Inc. (Condor) at the <br /> request of Mr. Dennis Boyer, Superintendent, New Jerusalem School District, pursuant to'a directive <br /> from Ms. Carol Oz of tfae'San Joaquin .County Public Health-Services Environmental Health Division <br /> - --(PHS/EBD). - <br /> -Tile objective of the work described in'this Work Plan is to further investigate the impact of petroleum <br /> - -product released from the former underground storage, tank.(UST) cluster at the site. This Work Plan . <br /> describes the installation of three soil borings and three monitor wells, the sampling of the on-site <br /> domestic well and the irrigation well, a water .well inventory and reporting: The proposed-work is <br /> anticipated to provide the necessary information required:for a Probleiil"Assessment Report(PAR). This <br /> Work Plan also includes a site-specific Health and.Safety-Plan; included in Appendix B. i <br /> pi <br /> 2. SITE BACKGROUND - — <br /> A _ PreliminaryInvestigation and -Evaluation Report PIER was prepared b Advanced <br /> a P ( ) P P Y <br /> GeoEnvirorirnental, Inc (AGE) and dated February 27, 1997. The fieldwork was conducted by AGE on <br /> November 18, 1996, The PIER indicated that a. 1,000-gallon UST and.a 350-gallon UST were removed <br /> from the site in July 1989 and that analysis of the soil samples!collected from beneath the 350-gallon <br /> UST detected the presence of gasoline contamination. According to the PIER, the field investigation <br /> 3f <br /> consisted of the installation and°sampling of three soil-borings and the results indicated that gasoline and <br /> i <br /> _ gasoline constituents were present iithe soil and groundwater at the site. The PIER also reported that <br /> groundwater was located at.approximately 12 feet below the gi-oiind surface (bgs) and that the'regional <br /> groundwater flow was toward the northeast. <br /> -3: FIELD AND ANALYTICAL METHODS -` -- - <br /> This section includes a description of the proposed drilling procedures,'soil and groundwater sampling, <br /> _monitor;well installation and sampling development, and laboratory analyses. The water well inventory h <br /> and reporting are discussed in Sections 4 and 5, - l <br /> .31--SITE PREPARATION <br /> Monitor well installation permits will be prepared. by Condor and submitted to the PHS/EHD. -Prior to <br /> I <br /> initiating the fieldwork, Underground Service Alert will be notified at'least 72 hours in advance of the <br /> fieldwork to locate and identify under&oui-d utilities in the vicinity of the work area.
