Chuck Carmel
Page 2
The extent of soil contamination has, for the most part, been defined. The eastern and
western boundaries of contamination associated with the former tank pit are inferred based
on analytical results from soil borings, B2, BI1, and B14. Groundwater contamination has
not been detected.
As discussed during the March 30, 1993 meeting with ARCO, soil remediation will be
initiated once remedial treatment equipment becomes available. Groundwater monitoring
should continue quarterly. Please include analysis for lead in future groundwater samples
collected.
If you have any questions or if you wish to schedule a site inspection, please contact Mary
Meays, Senior REHS of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Officer
CA-
11
aerie A.
