1 02 February 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Protect No 99-0624 <br /> _Page 4of8 <br />' 2 2 QUARTERLY WELL MONITORING PROCEDURES <br /> A quarterly ground water monitoring event was performed on 22 September 2003 on ground water <br />' monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4, MW-6 and MW-7 <br />' 2 2 1 Well Monitoring and Evacuation <br /> The depth to ground water in the six monitoring wells was measured from the top of each well ' <br />' casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter Ground water elevation in each <br /> well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the surveyed casing <br /> elevation (Table 1) <br />' After water levels were measured approximately 5 0 gallons of water a minimum of 3 casing-water <br /> pp Y g ( g <br /> volumes per well) were purged from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 and MW-6 and <br />' approximately 17 50 gallons ofwater were removed from well MW-7 using a Watera hydrolift pump <br /> and dedicated tubing Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular <br />' intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in <br /> Appendix D Purged water was stored in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and stored <br /> on-site <br /> 1 <br /> 2 2 2 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples <br />' Water samples were collected from each purged well using a Watera hydrohft pump and dedicated <br /> tubing after allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume <br />' Each water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric <br /> acid as a sample preservative After collection,the samples were properly labeled,placed in a chilled <br /> container and transported under chain-of-custody to CAL for analysis The samples were analyzed <br />' for <br /> • TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015M, <br />' 6 BTEX and MTBE, in accordance with,EPA Method 8020, and <br /> • MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2-DCA and EDB in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260B <br /> Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc <br /> I <br />
