LOGGING
Soil sample duplicates were monitored for the presence of organic vapor (OV) using an organic
vapor meter equipped with aphoto-ionization detector(PID:Thermo Environmental 580A, 10.0 eV,
calibrated to isobutylene)and were visually described on boring logs in accordance with the Unified
Soil Classification System (USCS). Boring logs and data table are included in Appendix A.
3.4. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All probing rods used were cleaned prior to advancement in each probe boring location. Sampling
tools and brass sleeves used for sample collection were thoroughly washed in a solution of Alconox
and rinsed with clean tap water prior to each sampling run.
4.0. FINDINGS
Soil descriptions (lithologies), were determined from field data. Hydrocarbon-impact in soil and
ground water was characterized from field screening and laboratory analytical data.
4.1. SOIL PROFILE
A brown to olive-green to gray, moist, silt with clay to clay with silt, with a trace of fine to medium
sand and black organic matter was generally encountered from surface grade to depths of
approximately 40 feet bsg in boring Bl, located in the former Graylift UST excavation. Generally,
a dark brown to olive-green,moist,clay to silt with clay, with trace black organic matter and fine to
medium sand was encountered in most borings to depths of 10 feet bsg.
Saturated soil was encountered in boring B1 at a depth between 40 feet and 50 feet bsg.Boring logs
and a table of sample descriptions are included in Appendix A.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
