Excavation 42 <br /> A total of nine samples will be taken from the excavation. Six sidewall samples will be taken at <br /> 2 feet bgs: three along the western sidewall and three along the eastern sidewall at the northern <br /> boundary, mid-section (55 feet southward) and at the southern boundary. Three samples will be <br /> taken from the center of the excavation at four feet bgs at the northern boundary, mid-section, <br /> and southern boundary. <br /> Quality Control (QC) Samples <br /> Two soil sample duplicates will be randomly picked by Tetra Tech and split from the Tetra Tech <br /> samples, placed into stainless steel sleeves, labeled, placed into cooler, and sent to Associated <br /> Laboratories for analysis by US EPA Method 8015 modified. <br /> Quality Analysis (QA) Samples <br /> The QA laboratory will be designated by the USACE. Two samples will be randomly picked by <br /> Tetra Tech and split from the Tetra Tech samples, placed into stainless steel sleeves, labeled, <br /> placed into cooler, and sent to the designated QA laboratory. The samples will be taken at the <br /> same location as the QC samples. <br /> Stockpiles <br /> Two samples (one sample per 50 cubic yards) will be taken from the soil designated for off-site <br /> disposal. The samples will be analyzed for the following: <br /> Compound EPA Method <br /> Total Petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) 8015 modified for diesel and hydraulic oil <br /> Benzene, Toulene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene 8020 <br /> TTLC metals: cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and 6010A <br /> zinc <br /> Rough& Ready Island 3 Tetra Tech, Inc. <br /> Revised Draft SAP November 18, 1998 <br />
