Section 1 <br /> Introduction <br /> On behalf of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sacramento District, Tetra <br /> Tech, Inc. (Tetra Tech) has prepared the following work plan to investigate the extent of soil <br /> contamination resulting from a hydraulic oil leak over a railroad track on Rough and Ready <br /> Island in Stockton, California. The scope of work (SOW) has been authorized under Task Order <br /> 0008 of Contract DACW05-98-D-0019. <br /> This work plan is organized as follows: <br /> Section 2 — Site Background: This section presents an overview of the impacted area and the <br /> type of wastes requiring removal and off-site disposal. A summary of the results of the previous <br /> site delineation and remedial activities conducted is included. <br /> Section 3 — Scope of Work: This section outlines the project objectives and the technical <br /> approach. This section includes Tetra Tech's proposed field methodology to conduct <br /> groundwater sampling via hydropunch, to remove the railroad tracks, ties, and ballast, excavate <br /> the hydraulic oil impacted materials, conduct soil confirmation sampling, and restore the site. <br /> Section 4 — Project Organization: This section includes a description of the project organization <br /> and responsibilities of team members. <br /> Section 5 —Project Schedule: A project schedule delineating tasks and duration is included. <br /> A Sampling and Analysis Plan and a Health and Safety Plan are included in the Appendices. <br /> Rough&Ready Island 1 Tetra Tech,Inc. <br /> Revised Draft Work Plan November 18, 1998 <br />
