Pagc I of 2
4
Vicki McCartney [EHI
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 4:29 PM
To: 'Kirk Larson'
Subject: RE: UST Fund Reviews
Good afternoon, Kirk.
The following is information you requested.
15 Grant Line Road,Tracv
This is an MTBE site. The fourth quarter 2008 and first quarter 2009 EDFs on GeoTracker for the above-
referenced site indicate that the MTBE concentrations are declining to MCLs. By letter dated February 6, 2009,
our department had approved installing additional monitoring wells. To date the wells have not been installed.
I honestly don't know if these wells are necessary based on the current analytical data.
444 Mossdale
On April 7, 2009, six hydropunch soil borings were advanced down-gradient of MW-7 to delineate the MTBE
plume. The results from that investigation have not been submitted. Once the plume is defined, our
department will request a corrective action plan be submitted.
308 N. Grant Street
This is a very contaminated site but it has been very difficult to get this site into remediation. A SVE
system began operation on May 15, 2008, and was shut down in August 2008 for repair work. The system was
not restarted until December 10, 2008. Then the SVE system was shut down on February 7, 2009, and our
department received a letter stating the responsible party did "not have the financial capabilities to continue
active remediation." I will be sending a letter directing the SVE system be restarted and will approve a limited
sampling schedule.
425 Larch Road,Tracv
This is an MTBE site. By letter dated April 6, 2009, our department requested a work plan for an ozone bench-
scale test and a work plan for performing an eight-to-twelve hour dual-phase extraction pilot test. Results from
these will determine what action to take to remediate this site.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Fax: (209) 468-3433
Email: vmccartney@sjcehd.com
From: Kirk Larson [mailto:KTLarson@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 8:57 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EHI
5/6/2009
