Frontier Transportation,Inc.
425 Larch Road
An additional approved modification to the work plan includes the use of two-inch
diameter casings rather than the originally proposed four-inch diameter casings for each
of the four proposed monitoring wells. This was agreed to during a telephone
conversation between Vicki McCartney at EHD and Hiram Garcia at BEII on
29 December 2003.
It appears that porosity was inadvertently omitted from the plume volume calculation
submitted in Site Conceptual Model. EHD would like clarification concerning the
calculation.
Laboratory analytical results are still not being electronically submitted to GeoTracker—
the State Water Resources Control Board database program. Water Code Section 13196,
commonly referred to as AB 2886,requires this. Electronic transmission of laboratory
analytical results to GeoTracker must be initiated immediately.
Please analyze soil and groundwater samples collected in the fixture for tertiary butyl
alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl
methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), in
addition to the proposed analyses: total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),
benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, total xylenes (BTEX), and methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE). 1,2-DCA should be reported at 0.5 micrograms per liter (µg/L), if possible, in
future groundwater samples collected at this site.
Please submit a drilling permit application for four monitoring wells with the $89.00 fee
to EHD and notify EHD at least 72 hours prior to commencing the fieldwork. If you
have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at(209)468-3456.
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department
Vicki McCartney,EHS Nuel C.Henderson,Jr.,RG
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: David Blakely,BEII
James L.L.Barton, CVRWQCB
