Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2014 12:20 PM
To: 'Khandwala, Jatin@Waterboards'
Cc: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Frontier Transportation -425 Larch, Tracy. (Claim 12886 and Case 2251
Jatin,
MTBE was detected in the off-site down-gradient well, MW-28, at 22.3 micrograms per liter(ug/L) during the May
2014 sampling event. This well is over three hundred feet from the source area. High concentrations of MTBE
were detected in wells MW-17, MW-19 and DPE3 during the May 2014 sampling event. Because MTBE
concentrations were reported above 1,000 ug/L in two of these wells and because the plume length that exceeds
water quality objectives is greater than three hundred feet in length, I do not believe that this site meets the Low-
threat Closure Policy Checklist criteria.
I believe that the approach taken by the current consultant is realistically targeting the MTBE plume and I would
like to see MTBE concentrations diminish before this site is moved to closure.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartney(@sicehd.com
0",' .
N NrifJ2,#
n,
From: Khandwala, Jatin@Waterboards [mailto:Jatin.Khandwala@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2014 10:23 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: Frontier Transportation - 425 Larch,Tracy. Any thoughts about low risk
closure?
Jatin
From: Vicki McCartney [EH] [mailto:vmccartney@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2014 4:24 PM
To: Khandwala, Jatin@Waterboards
Cc: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Frontier Transportation -425 Larch,Tracy.
