"No Smoking" signs will be prominently displayed at numerous locations. A portable combustible gas <br /> monitor maybe utilized to monitor the LEL. All work will cease if the percent LEL reaches 20 percent. <br /> 5.3 OXYGEN DEFICIENCY <br /> —� It is not expected that an oxygen-depleted atmosphere will be encountered during site activities. Whenever the <br /> risk of encountering an oxygen-depleted atmosphere does exist (confined space entry, for example), precautions will be <br /> taken to ensure the safety of all employees. Confined space entries are used only as a last resort, when all other means <br /> have been exhausted BEA uses a special permit system for confined space entry, entailing additional employee training <br /> and atmospheric monitoring. <br /> 5A BIOLOGIC HAZARDS <br /> It is not anticipated that poisonous plants or hazardous animals will be encountered during site activities. <br /> 5.5 SAFETY HAZARDS <br /> J Minimal safety hazards are expected onsite. <br /> 5.6 HEATlCOLDSTRESS <br /> Wearing personal protective equipment while conducting site operations puts the individual worker at <br /> considerable risk of developing heat-related disorders, collectively called heat stress. Monitoring will be performed to <br /> j avoid heat stress, using both oral temperatures and radial pulse rate for all workers engaging in heavy labor at ambient <br /> L temperatures over 70F. <br /> 1 5.7 NOISE <br /> Excess exposure to noise is not anticipated during work at the Frontier Transportation, hic. property, however, <br /> if noise levels are encountered above 85 decibels (dBa), hearing protection will be wom. In general, excess noise is <br /> "suspected" when people standing next to each other are not audible to one another. In addition, ear plugs will be <br /> U available on-site at all times for worker comfort as desired. A Hearing Conservation Program has been established by <br /> BEA and is in effect for all site locations. <br /> J5.8 ELECTRICAL HAZARDS <br /> - All electrical work, installation and wire capacities shall be in accordance with the provisions of the National <br /> electric Code. Power cords will be UL-listed heavy duty and include a grounding plug. All power cords and receptacles <br /> - l shall be inspected before use to ensure that the casings are not cracked, grounding prongs are attached and that there are <br /> not other visible defects. N any defects are found, the cord, receptacle or equipment shall be tagged and placed out of <br /> -I use until repaired or disposed of. Dining equipment maintenance activities, proper lockout procedures will be utilized. <br /> J 6.
