a <br /> 9.9.2 SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> j Standard operating procedures will minimize the risk of personnel exposure to <br /> hazardous materials during sampling, packaging and shipping, and minimize the risk of exposure <br /> of others to spilled or residual waste materials . <br /> 9.9.3 SAFETY EQUIPMENT <br /> First aid kits and fire extinguishers will be available on-site whenever work is being <br /> performed. First aid kits will contain at a minimum the following equipment: large absorbent gauze, <br /> adhesive bandages, bandage compresses, gauze pads, eye dressing, scissors, tweezers, triangular <br /> bandages, antiseptic pads, first aid book, activated charcoal, syrup of ipecac, burn spray and roller <br /> badges . First aid kits will be portable. <br /> 9.9.4 FORBIDDEN ACTIVITIES <br /> a. Eating drinking, chewing gum or tobacco, smoking or any practice that <br /> increases the probability of hand-to-mouth transfer and ingestion of materials <br /> in any area designated as contaminated; <br /> b. Ignition of flammable liquids or starting open flames ; <br /> C, Wearing contact lenses on-site; <br /> d. Use of non-prescription controlled substances or alcohol on-site; <br /> e. Site work at night. <br /> Appropriate signs will be posted at the site. <br /> 13 <br />
