7h3adwe11&Ro110
were collected at the depths shown in the boring logs in Appendix C and locations shown on •
Figure 8 of the 1999 Treadwell &Rollo report. Analytical results are presented in Tables 1
through 4 of that report.
No petroleum fuel hydrocarbon, volatile, or semi-volatile hydrocarbon contamination was
detected in the soil or groundwater samples analyzed during the Treadwell & Rollo investigation.
Arsenic concentrations in soil did not exceed EPA Preliminary Remediation Goals (PRGs) for
Industrial sites.
1.2.2 Operable Unit 2
1.2.2.1 Area 15
Description
This site, located north of Area 10, is referred to as the 423 North Madison Street site and as the •
Chase Chevrolet Site. The site was originally developed in the early 1900s and redeveloped in
the 1950s for use as an auto repair facility. Currently, the site has several buildings that are
vacant or involved with automobile repair. Areas between buildings are paved with asphalt or
covered with concrete slabs (Figure 4).
Site History
The site was originally developed in the early 1900s and redeveloped in the 1950s for use as an
auto repair facility. Underground storage tanks (USTs), which reportedly stored gasoline, diesel,
and trichloroethane (TCA), have been removed and petroleum hydrocarbon contamination has
been documented (AGE 1997).
10
25970309.DGD 24 August 2000
