Stantec
L & M OPERABLE UNIT- FOURTH QUARTER AND ANNUAL 2010 SITE STATUS,
REMEDIAL SUMMARY, AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
Status of Remediation Activities
January 31, 2011
conducted quarterly (at a minimum) for wells that repeatedly contain SPH sheen or a
measurable thickness of SPH.
The DPE Non-aqueous Extraction Technique (NET) free product removal system and periodic
extraction from monitoring wells have removed approximately 8.3 gallons of SPH from
groundwater beneath the Site between July 15, 2010 and October 14, 2010. Approximately
1,745.4 gallons of SPH have been removed from groundwater beneath the Site since May 10,
2004.
Historical DPE system operations, analytical data, and SPH removal data are presented in
Tables 10 through 17. Chemical concentrations and mass removal graphs are presented on
Figures 31 through 34. Analytical Lab reports and field data sheets for all O&M activities are
presented in Appendix G
3.2 APARTMENT SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
3.2.1 Apartment Soil Vapor Extraction Operations Summary
The Apartment SVE (ASVE) system has operated near continuously since May 31, 2007
following retrofit construction that began on December 12, 2006. The ASVE system is
comprised of horizontal wells (ASVE-1 through ASVE-6), a 100-gallon liquid/vapor separator,
and a Solleco 250 cubic feet per minute (cfm) vapor extraction system with a Roots URAI 56
10-hp positive displacement blower. Vapor from both the ASVE and the SVE system is abated
with a 750 scfm thermal oxidizer.
Since May 31, 2007 the 750 scfm SVE and ASVE vapor abatement system has been operated
under SJVAPCD permit number N-4878-2-0.
3.2.2 Apartment Soil Vapor Extraction Operational and Analytical Data—4Q10
Due to non-detectable levels of all evaluated analytes, no measurable amount of TPHg,
benzene, or MtBE was removed during 4Q10 (September 15, 2010 to December 14, 2010). To
date the ASVE system has removed approximately 2,076 pounds (340 gallons) of TPHg, and
0.13 pounds (0.02 gallons) of benzene from soil vapor beneath the Delta View Apartments. No
measurable amount of MtBE has been detected since system startup.
Historical ASVE system operations and analytical data are presented in Tables 18 through 20.
3.3 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION SYSTEM
3.3.1 Soil Vapor Extraction Operations Summary
The SVE system has run near continuously since May 31, 2007 following retrofit construction
that began on December 12, 2006. The SVE system is comprised of horizontal vapor wells:
I:\Tidewater\TW Stockton(Parcel 2A-0415)\Reports\QMR\2010\4010-Annual\4Q10 and Annual OSSRQRSRQMR Stockton_FINAL.doc 3.2
