No headspace will be present in the cylinder once the <br /> sample is collected. Care will be taken to avoid contamination of both the inside and outside of <br /> the cylinder as well as its contents. During sampling,!latex gloves will be wom to prevent <br /> I <br /> cross-contamination with other samples. One pair of disposable gloves will be dedicated to <br /> each sample collected. , <br /> Once the sample is collected, each end of the cylinder;will be sealed with aluminum foil or <br /> teflon tape and then capped with a polyethylene lid, taped, and labeled. The sample will then <br /> be individually sealed in a ziplock bag and immediately placed in an ice chest containing dry ice f <br /> p <br /> or frozen chemical ice for delivery to a state certified laboratory. Sample identification, storage <br /> k <br /> and transportation will be conducted as outlined in the previous section. <br /> I <br /> 11.3 Sampling from Soil Piles or Shallow Soil Pits <br /> Soil samples will be collected and transported from excavated material in the manner described <br /> in the previous section, however, a backhoe will not be utilized. If composite samples are I <br /> I <br /> collected, four brass cylinders will be collected for every 50 cubic yards of material to be <br /> sampled unless otherwise specified by the lead regulatory agency.
