October 11,2005
NOA Project Number: E05111A
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. No evidence was found, however, to
indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately. A diesel fuel storage tank existed on the
property, but has since been removed. No staining was observed in the location that the tank once
existed. Due to the state of the trash and burn piles on the property,it was impossible to determine
what may have been disposed or burned. There is potential for surface water runoff, which could
contain contaminants,to leach into the soils of the subject property. This can adversely impact soil and
water quality.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
A. Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject
property, meaningful conclusions regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be
determined without soil sampling and analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially
warranted when agricultural land is converted into residential use,as is the case on this property.
B. Should the property owners or the EHD be concerned about the area of trash and burn piles
on the north side of the subject property, soil and water tests are recommended to determine
if there are any contaminants that may adversely affect the subject property. As the site is
developed, any sources of contamination identified, including the debris pile, should be
removed and disposed of in accordance with all applicable EHD rules and regulations.
C. Should the future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of
their drinking water,EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for impacts
to groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way , Z>
warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those ('✓ `
sources.
9 '-444
