The purpose of this investigation
was to assess soil and groundwater conditions along the Pipeline for the presence of
petroleum hydrocarbons, specifically jet fuel, as an indicator of a potential release from the
Pipeline. This work was performed as outlined in SECOR's 2004 Chevron Pipeline
Assessment Work Plan (Work Plan) and Response to Comments, dated March 15 and April
22, 2004, respectively. The Work Plan was approved by the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board (CRWQCB), and the deadline for submittal extended, as indicated in
correspondence, dated April 30, 2004 and August 6, 2004, respectively (Attachment 1).
SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is a section of Chevron Pipeline MP 9.90 located near 541 West Grant Line Road
in Tracy, California.
