1.0 INTRODUCTION This report presents the results of the soil and groundwater sampling in a Phase H Environmental Site Assessment performed at the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), located at 2470 West Grant Line Road in the city of Tracy, California(refer to Figure 1, Site Location Map). This work was performed in conjunction with a Site Acquisition Environmental Record Search completed by SECOR on April 21, 1997. Concerns identified in the April, 1997 report include possible soil staining from truck parking at the site and the potential migration of groundwater impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons from upgradient off-site sources. This report has been prepared for ARCO, to be used solely in the evaluation of the environmental conditions of the property as described herein. This report may not contain sufficient information for other uses or the purposes of other parties. 1.1 OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the underlying soils and groundwater for potential petroleum fuel hydrocarbons from onsite and/or off-site operations. Soil samples were obtained from the locations of each proposed improvement (building, canopy and underground storage tank (UST) area). Four monitoring wells were also installed on the site and groundwater sampling was performed in order to further evaluate the potential environmental liability. To fulfill the objectives of the subsurface investigation, the following scope of work was completed by SECOR: Drilling and sampling of seven soil borings; Conversion of four of the borings to groundwater monitoring wells; Sampling of the four groundwater monitoring wells; Assignment of selected soil and groundwater samples for laboratory chemical analysis; Analysis of the results for the preparation this report.
