2.3.3 Regional Hydrogeology
The site is located in the Tracy Groundwater Basin. Based on recent monitoring well data from the
site, depth to first groundwater is approximately 8 to 10 feet bgs. City of Tracy Water Laboratory
personnel indicated that the shallow water is not used for drinking or agricultural purposes. It was
noted that deeper water is used for drinking water supply and agricultural purposes.
2.4 GOVERNMENT AGENCY DATABASES
SECOR reviewed a compilation of governmental databases assembled by VISTA Information
Solutions, Inc. (VISTA) which contained pertinent information on potential and identified
environmental concerns at properties nationwide. A copy of the VISTA report is included with this
report as Appendix D.
2.4.1 Sites with Operating Permits Only
Various agencies issue operating permits to regulate the storage of hazardous materials which
require mandatory reporting. The inclusion of these sites on the list does not imply that an
environmental problem exists or has existed at these sites, but that a potential for release exists
simply because the facility handles and stores hazardous materials.
Grant Line Shell, located adjacent to the west(crossgradient) of the proposed ARCO property, has
a permit to operate four 12,000 gallon underground storage tanks (USTs).
Tracy Pontiac-Cadillac-GMC Dealership, located 0.10 miles southwest (upgradient) of the
proposed ARCO property, has a permit to operate three 1,000 gallon USTs.
Scotty's Bait&Tackle (Grant Line Gas & Food), located 0.10 miles southwest (upgradient) of the
proposed ARCO property, has a permit to operate two 7,500 gallon USTs and one 5,000 gallon
UST.
Based on the information described above, and within this report, there is a potential that one or all
of the listed sites may have had or will have an environmental impact on groundwater beneath the
subject property.
2.4.2 RCRA Small and Large Generators of Hazardous Waste
Various agencies issue permits to regulate the handling, movement, storage and disposal of
hazardous materials which require mandatory reporting.
