MONITORING AND REPORTilvv PROGRAM -3- <br /> US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS <br /> PORT OF STOCKTON <br /> MAINTENANCE DREDGING STOCKTON DEEP WATER SHIP CHANNEL <br /> CONTRA COSTA, SACRAMENTO, &SAN JOAQUIN COUNTIES <br /> RECEIVING WATER MONITORING FOR THE DMD SITE DISCHARGE <br /> Grab samples shall be taken at five feet below the surface of the water and ten feet from the channel <br /> bottom. Two grab samples from each station shall be composited together in equal volumes resulting in <br /> one sample from each station for analysis. Water samples shall be taken from the following stations: <br /> Station Description <br /> R-3 Upcurrent of the discharge location and undisturbed by the <br /> discharge of the return water from the sedimentation basin(s), not <br /> to exceed 300 feet from the point of discharge. <br /> R-4 300 feet down current of the discharge point and on the <br /> same side of the river as the discharge point. <br /> Samples shall be collected and analyzed from Stations R-3 and R-4 as follows: <br /> Constituent/ Sampling Minimum <br /> Analysis ni Frequency, Detection Limit (,m2/1) <br /> Turbidity NTUs Daily <br /> Dissolved Oxygen mg/l Daily <br /> pH pH units Twice a Week <br /> Suspended Solids mg/1 Twice a Week <br /> Electrical Conductivity mhos/cm Twice a Week <br /> Hardness, as CaCO3 mg/1 Biweekly <br /> Total Cadmium mg/l Initiation of discharge 0.0005 <br /> Total Chromium mg/1 Initiation of discharge 0.001 <br /> Total Nickel mg/l Initiation of discharge 0.005 <br /> Total Arsenic mg/1 Biweekly 0.001 <br /> Total Copper mg/l Biweekly 0.001 <br /> Total Mercury mg/1 Biweekly 0.0002 <br /> Total Lead mg/l Biweekly 0.002 <br /> Total Thallium mg/l Biweekly 0.001 <br /> Total Zinc mg/1 Biweekly 0.002 <br /> DREDGED MATERIAL DISPOSAL SITE SEDIMENT MONITORING <br /> The dredged sediments remaining at the Dredged Material Disposal Sites may be required to be tested <br /> after dredging operations.
