A <br /> minimum of three samples shall be collected from the site. Each sample shall be a composite of the <br /> vertical depth of the material. <br /> THREE SPECIES EFFLUENT TOXICITY MONITORING <br /> Effluent toxicity monitoring shall be conducted to determine whether the effluent is contributing <br /> toxicity to the San Joaquin River. The testing shall be conducted as specified in US EPA guidance <br /> manual EPA 600/4-89/001. Effluent toxicity samples shall be collected from the sedimentation basin <br /> discharge prior to its entering the San Joaquin River. Grab samples shall be representative of the <br /> volume and quality of the discharge. Time of collection of samples shall be recorded. Effluent <br /> toxicity monitoring shall include the following: <br /> Species: Pimephales promelas, Ceriodaphnia, and Selenastrum <br /> Frequency: Once for each project within 7 days after the start of discharge. <br /> Dilution Series: Initial testing shall be on 100% effluent.
