• II Environmental Hazardous Materials
Assessment Work Plan
ACE Equipment Maintenance Facility,Stockton,CA
Page 4
volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) by EPA Method 8270C, and metals (CAM 17 Metals) by
EPA Methods 6010B and 7471A. Assuming that there are no odors, staining, or PID
measurements indicating the presence of soil contamination, the deeper samples collected from a
minimum of five feet below the interface will be archived frozen by the laboratory pending
results of the interface samples analyses. If indications of contamination are noted in the field at
the time of sample collection, the deeper samples will be submitted for immediate analysis. The
seven groundwater samples will be analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method 826013. The sample
quantities and types, associated analyses, and analytical methods are listed in Table 1,below.
TABLE 1—Laboratory Analytical Methods—General Railroad Use
Number and type of sample Analysis Method
18 discretes VOCs EPA Method 8260B
18 discretes Asbestos Method 600/R-93/116
3 composites 6:1 TPH-D,TPH-K,TPH-MO EPA Method 8015m
3 composites 6:1 SVOCs EPA Method 8270C
3 composites(6:1) CAM 17 Metals EPA Methods 601013/7471 A
18 discretes Archived Frozen To be determined if necessary)
Aboveground Storage Tanks
The four soil samples collected from the beneath the ASTs will be analyzed discretely for TPH-
D, TPH-K, TPH-MO, and TPH quantified as gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA Method 8015m, and for
VOCs by EPA Method 826013. The four samples will be composited at a four to one ratio (4:1)
by the laboratory and analyzed for CAM 17 Metals by EPA Methods 6010B and 7471A. The Health
and Safety Plan is provided in Appendix C.
5.0 REPORTING
Condor will prepare a report of findings to be submitted to the SJRRC. The report will include a
discussion of the field and laboratory procedures used to conduct the investigation, and a discussion and
presentation of the analytical results and subsurface lithology.
i CONDOR
