B-4 Personal Protective Equipment: It is anticipated that the level of personal protection <br /> required for this project will be U.S. EPA Level D. Personal protection will be modified to Level <br /> C in the event it is necessary for emergency evacuation of the site. Personal protective <br /> equipment for each member of the field team will be available on-site and used as may be <br /> required by field conditions. A summary of the personal protective equipment is as follows: <br /> • Full or half face respirators equipped with organic vapor cartridges; <br /> • TyvekO coveralls; <br /> • Neoprene rubber gloves; <br /> • Steel-toed leather work boots or steel-toed rubber boots; <br /> • Safety glasses; and <br /> • Hardhats. <br /> Hardhats will be worn at all times. Goggles will be worn during steam cleaning operations. If <br /> required, the remaining personal protective equipment shall be put on before entering the <br /> immediate work area. The sleeves of the coveralls shall be outside of the cuffs of the gloves to <br /> facilitate removal of clothing. If at any time protective clothing (coverall,boots or gloves) <br /> becomes torn,wet, or excessively soiled, they will be replaced immediately. <br /> No eating, drinking or smoking will be allowed in the vicinity of the drilling operations. The <br /> project geologist will designate a separate area on-site for eating and drinking. Smoking will not <br /> be allowed at the facility except in designated areas. No contact lenses will be worn by field <br /> personnel. <br /> B-5 Cleanup/Decontamination Procedures: At the end of the workday, the following <br /> procedures will be used to allow for the safe removal and decontamination of personal protective <br /> equipment that may have been required. <br /> • Boots and gloves will be washed with a AlconoxO detergent and tap water, then rinsed <br /> before removal. <br /> • Boot covers and coveralls will be removed and coveralls placed in a plastic bag for <br /> appropriate disposal. <br /> • Gloves will then be removed and placed in the plastic bag; hands will be washed with <br /> soap and water. <br /> • Spent protective clothing will be stored on-site in 55-gallon drums and properly disposed <br /> of after receipt of laboratory analyses. <br /> B-6 Person Responsible for Health and Safely at Site: Twining's project geologist will be the <br /> designated site safety officer. His responsibilities will include implementation of the site safety <br /> work plan for Twining personnel involved with the field operations. <br /> B-7 Site Safety Meeting: Twining's designated site safety officer will conduct a site safety <br /> meeting prior to commencing work. All Twining personnel involved in the field work shall <br /> attend the site safety meeting and sign the attendance sheet. The following items will be covered <br /> during the meeting: <br />
