Symptoms of direct exposure to significant concentrations of ASBESTOS may include: skin, eye <br /> or nose irritation. <br /> If any of these symptoms develop, operations will be stopped immediately and medical attention <br /> will be obtained, as necessary. <br /> First aid procedures for direct exposure to the on-site materials are: <br /> • Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately.Flush affected area immediately <br /> with water, then wash with soap and water. <br /> • Eyes: Hold eyelid open and flush the eye with water. <br /> • Lun s: Move to fresh air immediately. Give artificial respiration as necessary. <br /> A list of emergency telephone numbers and contacts for emergencies requiring fire,police, <br /> and/or ambulance response is summarized in Table B-1. Turn left on to French Camp Road. Merge on to Interstate 5 North on the <br /> left toward Stockton. Exit north-bound Interstate 5 on Pershing Avenue and continue straight. <br /> Turn right on to W. Acacia Street. The Hospital is located at 525 W. Acacia Street. <br /> B-3 Air Monitoring Program and Respiratory Protection: Vapors emitted from soil borings <br /> will be periodically monitored using a PID. In addition,if any unusual strong odors are noted, <br /> work will be temporarily discontinued and the source of the odor evaluated. In the event <br /> concentrations of hydrocarbon vapors measured in the breathing zone exceed 10 parts per million <br /> (the threshold limit value for benzene), work will be suspended and the site evacuated until <br /> engineering controls can be implemented to reduce the hazard. Respiratory equipment will be <br /> available on-site but will only be used if high levels of organic vapors are detected and it is <br /> necessary to secure equipment prior to evacuating the site. <br />
