d) SOIL ASSESSMENT
Please see attached FGL Fruit Growers Laboratory soils analysis
and recommendations.
e) VEGETATION/WILDLIFE
Vegetation in fields are farm crops of various types. This site has
been continually farmed for over 50 years and no known wildlife
is known to occur. The land owner and operator have indicated they
will have a biologist at the site to examine for any special-status
plant and animal species (sand borrowing owl, etc) to a less than
significant level.
0 IN-STREAM MINING
There will be no in-stream mining.
g) AIR RESOURCES/CLIMATOLOGY
Application/Operator are familiar with emission controls, primarily
to manage fugitive dust emissions, PM 10. Water is used as a dust
suppressant on internal haul roads and excavation area. Fugitive dust
emissions within he project rea will be controlled by limiting the
speed of vehicles to 15 mph and using water/dust palliative materials
for dust suppression. Proper maintenance of equipment and trucks
used in the excavation process and for transporting of materials from
site eliminates ozone precursor emissions. Any recommendations
submitted by the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control
District during the CEQA review process will be incorporated into the
operation.
Climate in the area is relatively mild. Rainfall averages 11.17 inches
per year. The average low temperature for the winter ranges from 37
to 41 degrees. Fahrenheit, while summer high temperatures can
average between 88 to 94 degrees Fahrenheit. Snowfall is not relevant
To this region.
2
