This Work Plan describes the project tasks and field methods proposed to <br /> evaluate the presence of heavy metals, volatile and semi-volatile organics in the soil and <br /> groundwater beneath the former Western Pacific Railroad (WPRR) Property. This investigation <br /> has been requested by the City in anticipation of future use and development of the property. <br /> Figure 1 shows the location of the subject property. <br /> This Work Plan is intended to serve as a general technical guideline to approach the site <br /> investigation. Additional investigation is necessary to determine the source and the extent of soil <br /> and groundwater impaction, prior to evaluating possible remedial alternatives. Field tasks <br /> described in this Work Plan will be performed in accordance with the site Quality <br /> Assurance/Quality Control Plan in Appendix A and the Site Safety Plan in Appendix B. <br /> 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The former WPRR Property is located on the northwest corner of West Lindsay and North Van <br /> Buren.
