Lodi Food and Liquor
Page 2
Soil samples will be collected using a two-inch interior diameter split spoon sampler
containing six-inch brass sleeves. The samples will be capped and sealed, and then
placed into cold storage pending delivery to Precision Laboratory, a California
certified laboratory located in Orange, California.
All borings will be sealed with bentonite chips, and then backfilled with the
associated soil cuttings. An asphalt plug will be placed on the surface. Based upon
groundwater maps for the area, groundwater is anticipated at approximately 35 to
45 feet below the surface, and should not be encountered during drilling activities.
However, should groundwater be encountered, the borings will be sealed to within
five feet of the surface with bentonite chips. This will be topped with soil cuttings,
and an asphalt plug will be placed at the surface. Any excess cuttings will be
drummed pending laboratory results.
Laboratory Analyses
All soil samples submitted to Precision Laboratories will be analyzed for benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX, EPA method 8020) and for total petroleum
hydrocarbons-gasoline (TPH-G, GC-FID 5030) . The appropriate chain-of-custody
forms will be completed for the samples, and a copy of these will be included in the
final report along with the laboratory results.
Final Report
A final report will be prepared documenting the field investigation and laboratory
analyses completed. Conclusions regarding the field observations and technical data
obtained will be presented, and if further investigative work is warranted for the
site, recommendations will be made at this time. Four copies of the final report will
be sent to E.M. Business Brokers for dispersement to the concerned parties,.
including San Joaquin County PHS/EHD.
All appropriate forms and permit applications required by PHS/EHD have been
included with this workplan, along with a check for $323.00 ($234.00 for
environmental assessment review and $89.00 for permit fees) . If you have any
questions, or clarification of the workplan is needed, please give us a call at (209)
551-2271.
CONSTRUCTION TESTING AND ENGINEERING, INC. - MODESTO
Sincerely,
I
L 1
Kelly Hugie Thorpe
Project Geologist
KHT/kt
env94-5058
