DRAFT
QBR maintains a small Maintenance Department, with each manufacturing unit
providing staffing for maintenance of their separate manufacturing operations. The
Maintenance Yard is located in the Manufacturing Yard. The maintenance activities
typically take place the equipment being serviced is located. Metal work and hot
work (cutting, machining and welding) typically take place outside on a concrete pad.
1.5.4 Site Drainage and Surface Conditions
Figure 2: Site Improvement Plan shows that the QBR=s manufacturing areas are
completely concrete paved. The site is bermed on the north, south and east sides.
The west side of the site is graded to direct surface drainage east toward=s the
site=s in -ground drainage system.
All stormwater and surface drainage is directed towards the site=s engineered in -
ground drainage system. Drop inlets are located throughout the site to receive the
stormwater and surface drainage from QBR=s exposed industrial areas. QBR has
installed at each if its drop inlets S.I.F.T sediment and oil filtration devices (see
Section 5: Appendisces) to remove sediment and residual oils that may enter into the
site=s stormwater runoff.
The majority of QBR=s stormwater runoff is directed to the City of Stockton=s
Drainage Detention Pond located at the northwest corner of the site. Surface
drainage from the west end of the site (Caliper Core Yard) is directed to two onsite
drop inlets . Drainage from the drop inlets located along the site's western
parameter is co -mingled with the discharge from the City of Stockton's Stormwater
Drainage Deterntion Pond.
QBR's remaining stormwater runoff is co -mingled with the runoff from Army Court
at the catch basin located at Army Court. Stormwater from the surrounding
Industrial Park at Army Court is discharged to the Drainage Detention Pond. The
discharge from the Army Court catch basin is discharged to the Detention Pond.
Discharge from the Drainage Detention Pond is under the control of the City of
Stockton=s Public Utilities Department and the City of Stockton=s Municipal
Stormwater Discharge Permit.
1.5.5 Significant Spills and Unauthorized Non-Stormwater Discharges
CATEMMMPREV2.doc Section 1-14
