Hazardous Materials and Waste <br />Handling/Storage Work Instruction <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of this Work Instruction (WI) is to specify the procedures for handling and <br />storing hazardous materials and waste. <br />2. Scope <br />This WI applies to QBR Stockton, CA operation. <br />3. Responsibilities <br />3.1. The Plant Manager is responsible for assuring that all elements of the <br />Environmental Management System are fully implemented. <br />3.2. The EHS Manager is responsible for monitoring the implementation of all <br />elements of the EMS. <br />3.3. The Production Manager/Production Controller is responsible for providing the <br />training of any cell associate work that is associated with significant <br />environmental aspects. <br />3.4. Associates are to conduct all work that is associated with significant <br />environmental aspects of the EMS, according to the applicable WI. <br />4. Definitions <br />Environment aspect: Element of an organization's activities, products or <br />services that can interact with the environment. <br />5. General Work Instruction Requirements <br />5.1. These documented WI procedures have been established and are being <br />maintained to cover situations where their absence could lead to deviations from <br />QBR's environmental policy, and the objectives and targets. <br />5.2. These and/or related documents stipulate any operating criteria that is relevant to <br />the affected significant aspect. <br />6. Specific Work Instruction Requirements <br />6.1. When receiving hazardous material, receiving/shipping associate must: <br />6.1.1. Handle all hazardous materials with care. <br />6.1.2. Label the hazardous material using form EF0040 — Chemical Labeling. <br />6.1.3. Place the hazardous material in hazardous storage area. <br />6.2. When collecting and storing a listed waste: <br />6.2.1. Containers must be equipped with the appropriate lid. For a <br />Closed Top (C/T), the drum must have proper fitting bung caps. <br />For an Open Top (O/T), the drum must have a tight -fitting lid <br />w/ring and clap; <br />QBR Brake, Inc. <br />2325 W.
