10.0 INTERNAL QUALITY CONTROL CHECKS AND FREQUENCY
The intent of the internal quality control program is to provide a measurement tool for
assessing accuracy and precision on a regular basis. The quality control samples
generated during field activities will be used to monitor sampling reproducibility and
cleanliness. Quality control data generated by the laboratory will monitor the accuracy
and precision of the analytical methods and any potential matrix interferences.
10.1 QC FOR FIELD MEASUREMENTS
Quality control procedures for field measurements will not be required for this project.
10.2 FIELD SAMPLING QC
To assess the quality of data resulting from the field sampling program, one field
duplicate sample will be taken and submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
10.2.1 TRIP BLANKS ND RINSE BLANKS
Trip blanks and rinse blanks will not be used during this sampling program due to the
limited scope.
10.2.2 FIELD DUPLICATE SAMPLES
Field duplicate sample(s) will be collected and used to assess the aggregate precision of
sampling techniques and laboratory analysis. For every ten investigative samples, a
field duplicate sample will be collected and submitted "blind" to the laboratory for
analysis.
10.3 LABORATORY ANALYSIS QC
10.3.1 METHOD BLANKS
A method blank will be analyzed by the laboratory at a frequency of one blank per
analytical batch. The method blank, an aliquot of analyte-free water, will be carried
through the entire analytical procedure. An analytical batch is defined as a group of no
more than 20 samples processed together.
031090-10(4) -16- CON ESTOGA-ROVERS&ASSOCIATES
