II . Corrosive Liquids : All corrosive liquids should be stored <br /> on pallets at least 50 ft. away from the flammable liquids . <br /> The corrosive storage area shall be designed so as drain- <br /> age is maintained so as to prevent an accumulation of <br /> liquid or vapor in or around the flammable and poisonous <br /> materials storage. <br /> The area should also be secured from tampering or tress- <br /> passing. Warning placards stating "CORROSIVE MATERIALS" <br /> shall be placed on the fence securing the corrosive storage. <br /> III . Toxic Materials: A distance of 50 ft. should be maintained <br /> between the flammable and corrosive storage from the toxic <br /> materials storage area. A diking or drainage plan should <br /> be arranged so as to prevent the spreading of spilled ma- <br /> terials beyond the storage area. <br /> The area should be secured from tampering or tresspassing. <br /> Warning placards stating "TOXIC MATERIALS" should be posted <br /> on the fence securing the toxic storage area. <br /> IV. Other Requirements : I would require that all leaking or <br /> damaged containers be disposed of using proper disposal <br /> procedures . I also request that a 20 ft. clear access road <br /> be provided for fire department equipment access to the <br /> flammable and other hazardous materials storage areas; build- <br /> ings ; and conbustible storage areas . <br /> Finally I would like all flammable, corrosive, and toxic <br /> gas cylinders to be stored with their corresponding liquid <br /> storage areas . <br /> Please let me know if you have any questions or comments regarding the <br /> requirements listed above. <br /> Thank you for your concern and efforts in handling this hazardous ma- <br /> terials ' problem in Manteca.
