STATF, OF CALIFORNIA
—riLAITH A,(1D WEIFARt i4CY' i°. }N' Y,,:!. GEORGE-DEUK`MEJIAN, Gomrnor
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
/ TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL DIVISION4'
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA SECTION
4250 POWER INN ROAD December 31, 1985
SACRAMENTO. CA 95826
(516)739.3145
Mr. Larry Gordon
Gordon Research Company
1085 South Union Road
Manteca, California 95336
Dear Mr. Gordon:
You have submitted to this office a list of the inventory at your facility.
On October 29, 1985, Sam Zarek, Project Engineer visited your facility to
make a final evaluation of your inventory. During the course of this
inspection the inventory (list of chemicals ) was reviewed. Some of these
chemicals as stated by you will be used in your maintenance shop, others
in the manufacturing of soap, and the remaining chemicals will be sold to
an appropriate user.
Based on your statements and inspection findings the Department has
determined that these listed chemicals do not pose a hazard to the
environment or human health, if they are properly managed and used as
stated in your submittal. Therefore, by copy of this letter, we are
informing the San Joaquin County District Attorney's office that the
Department is satisfied with your efforts and no further action is
anticipated. We have appreciated your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Brad Parsons, Supervisor
Surveillance and Enforcement Unit
SZ:am
cc: Mr. Jim Miller, San Joaquin County Health District
Mr. Stephen Taylor, San Joaquin County District Attorney
