I`
place in stockpile SP-1, and the layer containing petroleum constituents was placed in stockpiles
SP-3 and SP-2. As the excavation continued, it became obvious from the visible extent of
stained soil that more than 50 cubic yards of soil would be excavated and that the depth of
excavation required would extend beyond the reach of the equipment in use.
 J
Excavation activities were stopped, stockpiled soils were covered with visqueen, and samples
F1E 1, E-2, and E-3 were collected from the center of the floor, center of the ea t wall at the
floor, and center of the north wall at the floor, respectively. These samples were collected from
i
the backhoe bucket, labeled, and transported to the laboratory as described in reports included
in the appendices. Sample locations are indicated on Figures 4 and 5. The samples were
analyzed for BTEX and TPH-D as described in earlier reports. Analytical results are presented
N
in Table 5, and copies of the laboratory reports are included in Appendix E.
Fit,
i
I. ,
r,
i
rl-h1d12.rpt 15 bevmiber 11, 1992
!
