i 3-6
3 2 3 Septic Leachfield
The septic leachfield is reportedly located in the vicinity septic tank near the office building
(Figure 3) Two borings (SB-6 and SB-7 [MW-2]) were advanced in this area and one soil
sample was collected from each from a depth of 8 to 10 ft-bgs for the analyses of ammonia,
chromium, hexavalent chromium, TCL VOCs, and TPH-purgeable fuels as diesel (Table 1)
The results of the analyses of soil samples collected from the septic leachfield area are sum-
marized in Table 7 The results of the analyses are that hexavalent chromium was not de-
tected Chromium was detected at concentrations of 31 and 45 mg/kg in the two soil sam-
ples Ammonia was detected in both samples at concentrations of 4 3 and 4 7 mg/kg
Methylene chlonde was the only TCL VOCs detected in the samples, a concentration of
6 µglkg is believed to be attributable to laboratory procedures. TPH-purgeable fuels as
diesel was not detected in either soil sample
3 3 GROUND WATER SAMPLING
Ground water samples were collected on two occasions during this project Table 3 summa-
rizes the sample collection and the analyses that were performed. The results of each of
these sampling events are summarized in the following sections
3 3 1 Initial Phase H Investigation
Ground water samples were collected from the water supply wells via the supply system
holding tank on August 3, 1994, and from Monitoring Wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 on
August 10, 1994 These samples were analyzed for ammonia, total (unfiltered) RCRA
metals, hexavalent chromium, and TCL VOCs Table 7 summarizes the ground water sam-
ple results for the initial Phase II Investigation
Amnioma was detected in ground water samples collected from each of the monitoring wells
with concentrations ranging from 0.08 milligram per liter (mg/f) (MW-2) to 0 12 mg/f
(MW-1) Ammonia was also detected to the rinsate blank at a concentration of 0 07 mglf
The source of the ammoma detected in the nnsate blank is unknown Ammonia was not
detected m the sample collected from the water supply well system
29025
f
' "REALISTIC SOLUTIONS FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE PROBLEMS
