' 5.2 Ground Water Gradient
' A ground water gradient map was produced from the data obtained from the April 16,
1997 sampling event (Figure 2). The elevations used in the calculation are summarized
in Table 4. The ground water flow direction is toward the northwest during this sampling
event. This gradient and flow direction is consistent with previous monitoring events.
TABLE 4
' Monitoring Well Water Elevations
' Well Date Well Collar Depth to Water Ground Water
Number Elevation (feet) Elevation (feet)
(feet)
MW-1 4/16/97 57.70' 10.61' 47.09'
' MW-2 4/16/97 58.82' 11.23' 47.59'
MW-3 4/16/97 58.22' 10.64' 47.58'
MW-4 4/16/97 57.46' 10.52' 46.94'
MW-5 4116/97 57.86' 11.10' 46.76'
MW-6 4/16197 57.27' 10.57' 46.70'
MW-7 4/16/97 56.15' 8.92' 47.23'
' MW-8 4/16/97 56.09' 9.05' 47.04'
MW-9 4/16/97 56.60' 9.70' 46.90'
' 5.3 Discussion of Analytical Results
Analytical laboratory data indicate a slight increase in detected constituent levels in
monitoring well MW-1. The analytical results for this sampling event are nearly identical
to the results obtained from the October, 1996 sampling event. The sample collected
from monitoring well MW-6 indicated no detectable level of benzene or toluene, the
other constituent levels are slightly lower than those found during the previous sampling
event. Gasoline was detected at a level of 0.06 mg/L in MW-8. This is the first positive
' analyte detected for this well since the initial sampling event in March, 1996. The level
found is well below that indicated during the intial sampling event. The remaining wells,
MW-5, MW-7 and MW-9 each indicated non detectable levels for all analyzed
constituents. These data are consistent with data obtained from previous quarterly
sampling events.
American Geological Services, Inc.
CA95 DE-024
12
