The UW batteries were only labeled as batteries. A UW handler shall label or mark UW to identify <br /> the type of waste. Lamps (i.e., each lamp), or a container in which the lamps are contained, shall be <br /> labeled or marked clearly ith the following phrase: "Universal Waste-Lamp(s)". Correct immediately by <br /> properly managing UW la ps in this way. Class II Repeat Violation. <br /> 84. The container of UW b tteries had a date of 10-2-08. A UW handler shall accumulate UW for no <br /> longer than one year from e date the UW was generated, or was received from another UW handler. A <br /> UW handler shall be able t demonstrate the length of time that the UW has been accumulated from the <br /> date it became a waste or as received. The UW handler may make this demonstration by: <br /> (1) Placing the UW in a co tainer and marking or labeling the container with the earliest date that any <br /> UW in the container becam a waste or was received. <br /> (2) Marking or labeling the i dividual item of UW with the date it became a waste or was received. <br /> (3) Maintaining an invento system on site that identifies the date the UW being accumulated became a <br /> waste or was received. <br /> (4) Maintaining an invento system on site that identifies the earliest date that any UW in a group of <br /> items of UW or group of co tainers of UW became a waste or was received; <br /> (5) Placing the UW in a spe ific accumulation area and marking or labeling the area to identify the <br /> earliest date that any UW in the area became a waste or was received; or <br /> (6) Any other method which clearly demonstrates the length of time that the UW has been accumulated <br /> from the date it became a ste or was received. <br /> Employee acknowledged th t the UW batteries need to be disposed within one year of the accumulation <br /> start date. Correct immediat ly by properly disposing the the UW waste batteries. Submit a copy of the <br /> disposal record to the EHD y 7-21-11. Continue to dispose of UW within one year of the accumulation <br /> start date.
