DPT equipment typically generates minimal, if any soil cuttings. Any cuttings that are generated will be
returned to the probe holes prior to filling the holes with bentonite chips or cement slurry.
Groundwater Investigation
BB&J proposes groundwater investigation tasks to establish the direction of groundwater flow and the
quality of groundwater near the boundaries of the property. This information will indicate whether
groundwater at the property is degraded, and —if degraded- whether the source of degradation is
located onsite or offsite.
BB&J will sample as follows:
• Six soil borings will be advanced at the Subject Property using truck-mounted direct push
equipment to an approximate depth of 21-feet below ground surface (bgs)
• Groundwater samples will be collected at or near the soil/groundwater interface by driving
a hydropunch sampler ahead of the drilling rods into undisturbed soil
• Groundwater samples will be analyzed by a California-certified laboratory for the following
COCS:
— Total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH)gasoline range organics (GRO) using USEPA Method
80158
— Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MTBE) by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 82608
BB&J will prepare equipment rinsate samples and a trip blank for the ground-water investigation, which
will be analyzed for TPH-GRO, BTEX, and MTBE. BB&1 field personnel will log and classify soil samples in
the field using the Unified Soil Classification System, under the supervision of a California Professional
Geologist.
• California Assessment Manuals(CAM) metals using USEPA Method 6010B/7471A and Titanium
• OC Pesticides per USEPA 8141A
Reporting
BB&J will prepare a report to include soil and groundwater sample results. It will also contain the
support data to include analytical data sheets and chain of custody documents. Conclusions will be
based on information reviewed and site conditions observed.
4
Three Embarcadero Center 131"Floor,San Francisco,CA 94111
