LINCOLN STREET, STOCKTON, <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> I reviewed the Justification for Soil Vapor Extraction Well Locations (Workplan Addendum), submitted <br /> 20 June 2008 by Mr. Kong's consultant Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus). The Workplan Addendum <br /> was submitted in response to my 18 June 2008 letter (Letter), which included a requirement for <br /> justification of select remediation wells proposed in the 19 May 2008 Work Plan for Additional Site <br /> Assessment submitted by Stratus. The Workplan Addendum includes a revised Figure 1 (enclosed) that <br /> addresses Regional Board staff concerns with the spacing of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells, by <br /> grouping said wells (VW-5 and VW-6) in a pattern that coincides with the 15 foot radius of influence <br /> (ROI) reported in the 22 May 2008 Remediation Pilot Test Report and Feasibility Study. One <br /> groundwater treatment air sparging (AS) well (AS-4) was also moved into the VW-5 ROI. <br /> The revised Figure 1 SVE/AS wells in the Workplan Addendum are appropriately spaced and the <br /> Workplan Addendum is accepted. It is my understanding from a Stratus email dated 8 July 2008 that <br /> fieldwork will commence on 14 July 2008.
