This is a general description of the process used to make alcohol at <br /> the Lockeford, California Winery owned by United States Gasohol Corporation. <br /> The charge stock that will be used is molasses. It will be trucked <br /> I <br /> from the port to the plant in !_ockeford, California. After entering the <br /> plant, the molasses will be stored in concrete tankage on the premises <br /> in the Fermentation Building. This will consist of approximately 400,000 <br /> -# gallons of storage for raw molasses. <br /> Upon leaving storage, the molasses will go to the next set of twelve <br /> tanks.-and. will then begin the process. - - <br /> Fermentation is started b adding g yeast and enzymes to the molasses. <br /> The fermentation process will take approximately forty-eight hou rs, . at <br /> that time we will have alcohol at about eleven percent (11%) . The alcohol' <br /> will then be transferred to the storage building which will have approxi- <br /> mately 040,000 gallons of storage from the fermenters.ters. This will be a <br /> holding tank used- before the product is run -thru the beer still . After <br /> r running it thru the beer still and processing it there, the alcohol will <br /> be approximately 190 proof. After processing in the beer still thep roduct <br /> 1 <br /> 'w will be moved to steel tankage behind the distillation building and across <br /> the road beside the storage building marked Tanks 1 , 2, 6 and 6. This <br /> - will be used ad intermediate storage so that the new Azeotropic Section <br /> to be added can be run at a constant twenty-four hour per day pros en's. <br /> 'a <br /> :a <br /> 3 <br />
