1 <br /> 4 e"'bgica[TeckgtcsInc Page 7 <br /> Additional Site Characterization Report <br /> Project No 662 2 <br /> February 20,2004 <br /> A summary of the groundwater analytical data is attached in Table 1, Appendix A, and the <br /> ' lab data reports are attached in Appendix B <br /> As required under AB2886, the soil and groundwater laboratory data were submitted <br /> electronically to GeoTracker on January 14, 2004 (confirmation #'s 8516699790 & <br /> 2406043469) <br /> ' Note: Several problems were recorded with the Sequoia Analytical laboratory data: <br /> • Sample Report #312120 omitted EDB data <br /> • Sample CPT5D20- analyzed past holding time <br /> • Sample CPT6D55- analyzed past holding time <br /> • Sample CPT8D30- analyzed past holding time <br /> • Sample CPT8D35- analyzed past holding time <br /> • Sample CMD55- analyzed past holding time <br /> ' Sequoia responded by updating the report to include the EDB data, and stated that the <br /> holding time delays were due to equipment problems (their e-mail response is included in <br /> Appendix D) <br /> The samples analyzed past the holding times were all off site soil samples In GTI's opinion <br /> ' the discrepancy an these samples' handling does not materially affect the site conceptual <br /> model <br /> ' 3.0 GROUNDWATER EXTRACTION WELL <br /> ' SJC/EHD approved the installation of a single groundwater extraction well in their February <br /> 14, 2003 letter The purpose of this well is to enable the performance of a groundwater <br /> 1 pumping test to determine aquifer characteristics <br /> 3.1 Extraction Well Installation <br /> Prior to commencing work, a soil boring/monitoring well permit was secured and the <br /> SJC/EHD was notified at least 48 hours in advance The subsurface was cleared of <br /> underground utilities by notifying Underground Service Alert <br /> On December 12, 2003 V&W Drilling (C57# 720904) of Isleton, California mobilized to <br /> the site to install extraction well EW-1 The EW-1 boring was drilled using a ten inch <br /> outside diameter continuous flight hollow stem auger to its total depth of 50 feet bgs The <br /> r boring was not logged during drilling due to its proximity to well MW-104, however four <br />
