activities because of the need to obtain the cooperation of off site property
owners to permit drilling on their property.
This report should incorporate the Preliminary Report Information In summary and
delineate the problem accurately by including:
Pagination
Tables summarizing raw data such as compound concentrations found
i
Figures delineating horizontal and vertical extent of a plume
Depth to first and second ground water
Ground water gradient based upon recent data
Soil stratigraphy based upon borings, wells, trenches and supporting logs
Local wells, buildings or utilities Impacted or potentially threatened
Defined extent of soil and ground water contamination, the "ZERO LINE"
Floating product found--depth and extent
Investigate and submit proposals and costs for at least:
a. Excavation
b. On-site soil aeration
c. Off site soil treatment
d. Landfilling
e. Soil venting
f. Ground water extraction and treatment by
aeration, carbon filtration, pump to sewer, etc.
gg Biodegradation--soil and grouna water
li. Physical containment
1. Chemical neutralization
J. No act ion
Some alternatives may be eliminated as simply not feasible for the site. For
instance, soil venting is practical in sandy soils but difficult to justify for tight
clay soils where biodegradation or excavation may be a better consideration.
In order for our review to proceed and the tank owner to be back in business as
soon as possible, a concise, complete report is necessary. We Oo not have the time
to Interpret pager of raw data and attempt to explain them to the tank owner.
Note: if disposal in a landfill, sewer line, air stripping, etc are proposed, the
consultant must have assurances from the regulating agency that the activity is
acceptable.
Site maps and soil data are to be reported as follows:
1. All maps oriented with north up on the page,
2. A bar scale included, e.g. -- -S-__._-I_ - -S. = 10 feet,
