fr
Proposed Work Plan November 4 , 1988
U.S.A. Petroleum Starion No. 65, Lodi, California AGS 87050-3
i
S-B) were drilled to a depth of 20. 0 feet, and two boreholes
where drilled to a depth of 50. 5 feet. Ground-water monitoring
wells S-1 and S-2 (2-inch inside diameter) were installed to a
depth of approximately 49 feet in the two deeper boreholes. The
locations of the PEG boreholes and monitoring wells are shown on
the Generalized Site Plan. The results of analyses of soil and
water from borings S-A, S-B, and S-2 are shown in Table 1.
Concentrations of benzene, toluene, and total xylene isomers in
water samples were greater than the maximum acceptable
concentrations for drinking water recommended by the California
Department of Health Services.
The 'results of initial site work indicated a need for further
assessment of hydrocarbon contamination. At the request of
U.S .A. Petroleum, Applied GeoSystems installed three ground-water
monitoring wells at the site on August 11 and 12 , 1987, to
further delineate the extent of ground--water contamination
initially detected. Monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 were
installed in the upgradient direction to the northwest and
northeast of the underground tanks. Monitoring well MW-3 was
installed to the south of the tanks in the downgradient
direction.
r
3
A,ov/ied GeoSystems
