i
Proposed Work Plan November 4 , 1988
U.S.A. Petroleum Station No. 65 , Lodi, California AGS 87050-3
degree of hydrocarbon contamination in the downgradient
direction. All monitoring wells will be located at least 10 feet
from any property lines. If monitoring wells are located less
than 50 feet from any sewer lines, water will be collected and
analyzed for fecal coliform bacteria as specified by San Joaquin
County regulations.
SOIL BORING AND SAMPLING
Applied GeoSystems will contact Underground Services Alert to
identify public utility lines at the site before we begin
drilling. The soil borings will be drilled using a Mobile B-61,
or similar, drill rig with 8-inch continuous flight, hollow stem
augers. The auger flights will be steam-cleaned prior to use to
minimize the possibility of downhole or crosshole contamination.
The drilling will be performed under the guidance of a field
geologist, and the earth materials in the baring will be logged
as drilled.
During drilling, soil samples will be collected at 5-foot
intervals using a California-modified split-spoon sampler
equipped with clean brass sleeves. Samples will be collected by
advancing the boring to a point immediately above the sampling
7
Applied GeoSystems
