Disposal of the soil remains the <br /> responsibility of U.S.A. Petroleum Corporation. Applied <br /> GeoSystems can arrange to have the soil treated or removed to an <br /> appropriate disposal facility with prior authorization by U.S.A. <br /> Petroleum. <br /> MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION <br /> The monitoring wells will be constructed with thread-jointed, <br /> 2-inch-inner-diameter, Schedule 40 PVC casing. No chemical <br /> cements, glues, or solvents will be used in well construction. <br /> The screened portion of the wells will consist of factory- <br /> perforated 0. 020-inch-wide slotted casing. The well screen will <br /> extend from the total depth of the well to approximately 10 feet <br /> above the upper zone of saturation to allow sampling at the <br /> I <br /> ground-water surface during seasonal fluctuations. <br /> The annular space opposite the screen will be packed with sorted <br /> sand to a point approximately 5 feet above the slotted intervals. <br /> A 1-2 foot bentonite plug will be placed above the sand as a seal <br /> against cement entering the sand pack.
