y.
Proposed Work Plan November 4 , 1988
U.S.A. Petroleum Station No. 65, Lodi, California AGS 87050-3
will be backfilled with neat cement or a cement/bentonite slurry
to a few inches below grade.
A cast-aluminum utility box with a PVC apron will be situated
over each well head and set in concrete placed flush with the
surrounding concrete pad. This box has a watertight seal to
protect against surface-water infiltration and requires a
specially designed wrench to open. The possibility of either
vandalism to or accidental disturbance of the well is reduced.
GROUND-WATER SAMPLING
The wells will be developed prior to water sampling by swabbing,
surge pumping, or another suitable method. Applied GeoSystems
will wait a minimum of 24 hours between developing and water
sampling. Following ground-water recovery to static conditions
and an initial water-level measurement, the wells will be sampled
using a Teflon bailer cleaned with Alconox and deionized water.
The bailer will be used first to obtain a sample from the surface
of the water in the well prior to purging. Any subjective
evidence of product detected in the wells will be recorded.
Purged water will be placed in Department of Transportation 17-E
55-gallon drums and left an the site.
