The <br /> workplan discusses possible additional excavation, if impacted soils are found during the UST <br /> removal and line replacement activities. <br /> Site Status <br /> Currently, there are 10 groundwater monitoring wells at the site. These wells were installed as <br /> part of a soil and groundwater investigation conducted by USA Gasoline Corporation. The wells <br /> have essentially delineated the areal extent of impacted groundwater with the six on-site wells and <br /> four off-site wells. <br /> Additional work/excavation is being proposed after the UST's have been removed. This effort <br /> will be completed to address TPH impacted soil, if encountered. In addition, a soil sampling plan <br /> is proposed for the fuel distribution piping and system upgrade activities. This workplan proposes <br /> two phases to complete this scope. <br /> Workplan <br /> 1. Soil samples will be collected from the open trench of the fuel distribution piping in <br /> accordance with RWQCB Tri-Regional Recommendations and at the direction of San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Ser vices/Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> personnel, with one sample being collected for every 20 lineal feet of piping. In addition, <br /> soil samples will be taken from under each dispenser. A hand held Photo-Ionization <br /> Detector (PID), calibrated to 100 parts per million (ppm) Iso-Butylene, will be used to <br /> specifically identify sample locations.
